Roma Defender Mexes Refutes Milan Link
The French stopper insists he has no intention of swapping Roma for Milan...
Roma defender Philippe Mexes has, once again, refuted reports linking him with a move to Milan, and he insists he has no intention to leave the capital city.
Mexes has been the unsung hero in defence for Roma this season. His excellent performances have warranted interest from Milan who were eyeing the stopper as a possible replacement for the injured Alessandro Nesta.
Giallorossi president Rosella Sensi insisted that Mexes would not be moving to San Siro this January. The player has now echoed the voice of Roma's first lady.
"Me as a Rossonero player? No no, everyone should remain tranquil," Mexes told Romagiallorossa.com
"I will be staying here, I want to remain at Roma."
Reports had earlier suggested Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani was ready to move and shake for the Frenchman, but such a move is unlikely.
Mexes is keen on staying and Roma are playing hardball over the sale of their prized assets.
The Giallorossi clash with relegation strugglers Torino on Sunday as they try and move closer to the all-important fourth place.
