Pablo Zabaleta Can't Wait For 'World Star' Kaka To Come To Manchester City

Weekend hero Zabaleta has praised Man City, boss Mark Hughes and potential team-mate Kaka.

Manchester City's right-sided Argentine ace Pablo Zabaleta scored the winner against Wigan Athletic on Saturday to keep the Citizens ticking over until the potential transfer of Milan star Kaka is completed.

The 24-year-old South American - signed for what now looks like a paltry £6.45 million from Espanyol - is very much in favour of the mega-money deal to bring Kaka to Eastlands and would love to team up with the Brazilian.

He told the Daily Express: "As players we try to stay on the margins of these types of things, but the club has some very beautiful plans.

"With the people who have come from Abu Dhabi, the club have the cash for important players, which is a good thing. We all hope Manchester City will soon be fighting for the title and playing in the Champions League.

"Kaka? I played against him for Argentina when we played in London and Brazil won 3-0. He is a fantastic player, a world star.

"It would make us very proud to have one of the best players in the world, and it would be such a fantastic boost for the whole club."

Asked if he's happy with gaffer Mark Hughes and his transfer plans, Zabaleta added: "Mark Hughes has had to gel all these players little by little, and the team is coming together now.

"We know that he's looking for players with character - strong players. He is a winner."

Time will tell if Hughes wins the right to manage Kaka at all and, if so, if the Welshman can stay in the hotseat long enough to enjoy the midfielder's influence.
