Adriano Galliani Impressed By Thiago Silva’s Milan Debut
AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani has praised new recruit Thiago Silva after the friendly with Hannover and claims he will be a good asset next term.
Milan defeated Bundesliga outfit Hannover 3-2 last night, debuting Brazilian international defender Thiago Silva. The former Fluminense ace played the entire game forming a central defensive partnership with Swiss international Philippe Senderos.
“Thiago Silva really impressed me, he is very fast and capable of beating opposing players,” Adriano Galliani stated after the encounter.
“It’s a shame he will not be at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal right away, but there is this rule on non-EU players.
“Nonetheless, we will wait for him to play next season, but he would have been really useful right now.”
Milan are going through a defensive injury crisis with Alessandro Nesta and Kakha Kaladze still sidelined while Marek Jankulovski will be suspended for the upcoming clash with Bologna.
However, the Milanesi also reeled in Brazilian right-back Felipe Mattioni from Gremio last week. The 20-year-old is eligible to play this term as he holds an Italian passport.
