AC Milan Chief Berlusconi To Show His Hand In Beckham Deal
The chief is ready to muscle his way into the deal and shackle 'Becks' to the San Siro...
Milan president Silvio Berlusconi is ready to step in and ensure David Beckham stays on at the club, and he will try and convince everyone involved in the deal, like he did when Kaka rejected Manchester City.
Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the Italian Premier has been watching the Beckham saga unfold, but with no end in sight, Berlusconi is about to show his hand and convince Los Angeles Galaxy to part company with their man on a permanent basis.
The chief has a habit of getting his own way as reports suggest he was behind the Ronaldinho switch from Barcelona, as well as Kaka's refusal to go to Manchester City last month.
The Rome-based newspaper reports that Berlusconi will muscle his way in in order to help swing the deal in Milan's favour. So far he has been watching at arms length, but he is now ready to make the difference.
The Galaxy are not satisfied with Milan's initial offer, believed to be in the region of €6.7 million, however, the media mogul is ready to dig into his pockets and ensure Beckham stays.
Milan are looking to help the American side financially by attending a pre-season tournament in Los Angeles in the summer as well as help promote the game alongside the MLS on behalf of the Galaxy in order to hasten the Beckham deal.
