Former Milan and Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly doubts that Carlo Ancelotti will join the Stamford Bridge-based club at the end of the season.

Ancelotti is being tipped as the favourite to replace interim manager Guus Hiddink when he goes back to duties with the Russian national team. Reports have been rife with speculation ever since the coach met with Roman Abramovich last summer.

The coach still has a year left on his current deal, and he admitted that the answer to his future will emerge on Monday.

Desailly won the 1994 Champions League trophy with Milan, before joining Chelsea four years later. The Frenchman believes a number of factors, including Ancelotti's limited grasp of English, does not make him the ideal candidate.

"I don't think Ancelotti will go to Chelsea," Desailly told Sky Sport Italia.

"I think AC Milan will qualify for the Champions League next year and I am not really sure he has the desire to come to Chelsea.

"He does not speak the language for a start, which is an obvious drawback."
