Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has taken over AC Monza Calcio who play in Italy's third tier, according to Sportmediaset.it
The report suggests Seedorf has bought a 51 percent stake in the club through his business investment company ON International. The other 49 percent will head to Reply S.p.A which is headed up by Salvo Zangari, but has former Inter defender Giuseppe Bergomi on the books.
The report suggests negotiations have been on-going with the club's outgoing president Giambattista Begnini who has been at the helm for the past five years.
Although there has not been an official comment from the club or Seedorf, ON chief executive Massimiliano Rossi has revealed neither his company nor Reply S.p.A are the official owners of Monza yet, claiming a bigger conglomerate of high-powered investors will represent the club.
"Neither ON International or Reply S.p.A can be indicated as the new owners of Monza. Instead a bigger group of investors will take control. Everything will be revealed on June 26," Rossi told Il Giorno.
Voices claim Seedorf will be behind the eventual change of Monza's proprietors.
