Robinho: Manchester City Always Planned Kaka Swoop

Robinho has stated that Manchester City have been plotting their move for Brazilian ace Kaka for some time now and has guaranteed that the duo can light up the Premier League.

Manchester City's own Brazilian Pied Piper has revealed that the Citizens' mega bid for his countryman and Milan superstar Kaka has been planned since the summer.

The blockbuster transfer continues to gather pace and the alleged figures involved are staggering. The latest reports suggest that City will fork out €120 million (£107 million) to buy the midfielder, in addition to the same figure in wages over five years and around €30 million (£27 million) in fees.

The potential transfer has split opinion and sparked debate amongst fans and pundits.

Robinho, though, who signed from Real Madrid soon after Sheikh Mansour became the new Eastland's supremo, is unsurprisingly delighted with the recent developments.

"When I arrived in the summer, the directors of City told me that Kaka was a priority and their main objective," he is quoted as having said in the Daily Star. "Now, they have finally been open about it.

"For me, Kaka is one of the best players in the world and it will be incredible to play next to him at City.

"I can’t really say at the moment whether he will come or not because it will be a big decision for him to leave Milan... he loves the club."

Spectacle

Milan are said to have accepted a bid and the transfer is hanging in the balance, seemingly down to the 26-year-old's personal wishes.

Suddenly coy, Robinho continued: "I have spoken on the phone to Kaka, but those are private conversations.

"We are friends and companions in the Brazil squad and it is normal for us to be in contact.

"What I do know is that Kaka would be a huge success in England and at any club in the world.

"I also believe that we can play in the same team... it will be a guaranteed spectacle on the field!"

He went on to claim: "He very nearly signed for Madrid when I was there."
