Kaka Deal Still 'A Million Miles Away’, Admit Manchester City

Mark Hughes has admitted that Kaka's proposed move to Manchester City is still a distant prospect.

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has admitted that any deal to bring AC Milan’s Kaka to Eastlands is still a long way from completion.

As has been widely reported, Milan have accepted an offer of £108 million from City for their Brazilian superstar, with the player expected to meet with the Premier League club in the coming days to discuss the proposed move.

However, speaking to BBC Sport after yesterday’s 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic, the City boss confessed that there was a long way to go before any potential deal could be concluded.

“The scale is too large and there are too many elements to it,” he said.

"We're a millions miles away from actually concluding the deal. It's not a case of talking to the club, talking to the boy and getting the deal done in 48 hours.

“You have to give it the time that it deserves. If we can make it happen, we will do I'm sure because the owners have a real desire to bring the best players in the world to this club.”

In the meantime, the speculation surrounding Kaka’s future continues to mount. The latest reports have claimed Real Madrid may attempt to hijack City’s bid whilst a number of players, including David Beckham, have speculated that the Brazilian will elect to remain at the San Siro.
