Alexandre Pato: Milan Will Win The Champions League Next Season

Milan striker Alexandre Pato has promised to fire his side into the Champions League next season. He is even confident the Rossoneri can win the biggest prize in European club football at the first time of asking.

Pato has been in hot form this term for his side. The Brazilian ace has hit 12 goals so far in Serie A and Milan are on course

to finish in a spot that will reward them with a Champions League berth.

Pato has highlighted his objectives for next season, vowing to shoot Il Diavolo to glory.

"Milan have won everything in the past,” Pato told La Gazzetta Dello Sport. “The fans and critics have always been used to seeing us win.

"It's normal sometimes to go through a period like we have. However, I am sure we will return to the Champions League next season and we will win it. We will start a new cycle."

Staying with the Champions League, Pato has been following all the European action closely. The Brazilian tried to explain why the Italian clubs failed this season before giving his predication on the eventual winners.

"The three English teams who played against the Italians were much stronger,” asserted the striker. “I think this is the reason why Inter, Juve and Roma went out.

"I think Manchester United or Barcelona will win it this season. Barcelona are spectacular."

Pato has got on well with English midfielder David Beckham. The striker admits he wants to learn a thing or two from the former Manchester United and Real Madrid man.

"I always take free kicks well,” the youngster stated. “However, I want to have his capability to cross a ball from anywhere on the pitch. His crosses are fantastic.”

Milan take on Siena this weekend and both Pato and Beckham may start. The England international is fighting a fitness battle after injuring his right ankle in training earlier this week.
