AC Milan are considering the prospect of an all-Brazilian central defensive partnership next season as they ponder a summer swoop for Bayern Munich defender Lucio.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Milan will launch a bid to sign centre-back Lucio from German champions Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old centre-back has been plying his trade in Munich since 2004 but his contract with the club is set to run out in June 2010.

The 2002 World Cup winner has not started talks over a contract renewal and it appears highly likely that Bayern would try to cash in on the player if Milan were to put a sizeable offer on the table next summer.

Milan are in the process of reshuffling their ageing defensive back-line and have already captured versatile Brazilian defender Thiago Silva from Fluminense last month. The 24-year-old will only be available from next season as the Diavoli have already reached their quota of non-EU players this term.
