Gianluca Zambrotta Disappointed With Milan’s Second Half Performance

The Rossoneri were unable to hold on to a 1-0 lead as Genoa scored an equaliser late in the game thanks to a very good performance after the interval as Milan fell away.

Milan midfielder Gianluca Zambrotta admitted that the second half performance of his team against Genoa was not up to par.

The Rossoneri gave too much space to the Rossoblu, who created a number of chances until striker Diego Milito scored the equaliser towards the end of the match.

"There's a bit of disappointment because there have been many matches [this season] in which we have been reached in the final part of the game, and in some matches at home we have had a dip in the second half. This is contrary to the first half in which we create, run and play more," commented the former Barcelona player.

"In fact, in the second half we allowed Genoa to climb back into our penalty area and they created more chances. Abbiati was good in making a great save at one point.

"We must improve this aspect of our home play, create more goal scoring chances and now allow our opponents to come back."

Milan now have 41 points from the 21 league games played so far this season, two less than Juventus and eight points short of league leaders Inter.
